++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

     Many new members joining us today.  I know everyone welcomes them.  We are all in this together.
    Sometimes HOPE is but a little glimmer in the darkness.  Here's a couple of examples I heard just this week:  A young man who is currently not attending mass abstained from meat every Friday of Lent and "gave up" a favorite food during that time.  His mom realizes Jesus is still on his mind.  Another family, who does not currently attend the Catholic church, is stationed in Europe with the military.  Over Easter they are vactioning in Rome and are scheduled to attend the Pope's mass in St. Peter's Square.  Who knows how this may touch them?  Both Mom's see the movement of God in these events.  Hope springs in their hearts and renews their determination to persevere in prayer!  May their stories do the same for all of us.  Remember, just because we cannot see it, it does not mean that God is not working.     (If you see the hand of God manifested in your prodigal's life or your own, please let me know so I may share it with the group to to build our hope and faith.)
          As our online group grows, please remember to pray with us (even if all the time you can spare is to utter the words "Help, Lord!) every Friday at 3:00pm.  The Marian Mantle group prays the rosary and the chaplet of Divine Mercy in front of the Blessed Sacrament at that time.  We pray for your prodigals, our prodigals, and for all the names that have been written around the picture of Our Lady of Sorrows.
      May God bless all of us and grant us His Peace.
Peace,
MaryAnn

PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR MAY 7, 2004

[Prayer intentions submitted to this group are shared only in the semi-weekly email update sent to members of the online prayer group.  Please keep all of us and our prodigals in your prayers--just as we will pray for you.]

GOD'S WORD FOR US

John 10:27-30 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

       For those who are interested, there was an article about this association in The Leaven--the newspaper for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.  It is no longer on line but I did save a file that I could email you if you wish.  Hopefully, it will help to spread the message that the pain of those who pray for prodigal Catholics is valid, that a commitment to perseverance is necessary for effective intercessory prayer, and that nothing--absolutely nothing is impossible for God to do.  Please pray for each other that, through Jesus, we may all live anxiety-free, peace-filled lives while we wait and pray for our prodigals to return.
     Please tell your family and friends about our prayer group and about the Silent Strength presentation.   MaryAnn will go wherever she is asked to speak--no matter the size of the group.  There is no fee.  She does ask Kansas City area groups for a stipend, if possible, to cover travel costs (gasoline) to and from the meeting place.  For groups outside of KC, she asks that travel expenses be provided.
     Currently, the presentation is scheduled at the Serra Club on June 9 and at the KC Catholic Conference on June 12.  If you would like more information about getting it scheduled in your parish, please email me
     Please give the email address pray@marianmantle.com to any of your
family and friends who might benefit from joining our online prayer group.
PLEASE SHARE YOUR STORY**
