++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

It’s a difficult time for me right now.  Not a sad time, but a trying time.  I have many other things going on right now that all seem to be taking precedence over the work I need to do for this association.
Lately I find that thank you notes are going unwritten and phone calls are being delayed. I certainly have not kept up with my professional writing this month.
Also, I’ve told you before that Bob and I always pray the rosary together in the evening.   The past few nights it has been so tempting to say “Let’s skip it this evening.”

Bob and I talked about this, and he suggested I mention it in this prayer group update because someone else out there may be feeling a little discouraged, too stressed to pray, or whatever.  So, if that is you, then this message is for me and it’s for you, too.

St. Ignatius teaches us that when we are feeling discouraged and depressed and are tempted to stop praying, we need to realize that we are in a vulnerable state that allows a spirit of evil to try to influence us and cloud our judgment.  Ignatius says we should hang in there, persevere in prayer, and not make such a decision until we are feeling joyful and able to thoughtfully evaluate our situation with a clear mind.

So, all of you who are feeling discouraged, let us praise the Lord together, count our blessings and request,  “Lord, grant me the patience, to endure my blessings.”

May God bless all of us and grant us His Peace.

Peace,

MaryAnn

ps (I will always have time to talk to any of YOU, anytime.  Never hesitate to call me.  I have received several calls just at the time when I needed to be reminded that God cares and loves us.  I am so grateful for those calls.)

PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR August 13, 2004

[Prayer intentions submitted to this group are shared only in the semi-weekly email update sent to members of the online prayer group.  Please keep all of us and our prodigals in your prayers--just as we will pray for you.]

GOD'S WORD FOR US

"Love one another as I have loved you."  John 15

WORDS OF HOPE

THIS DAY'S GREATEST GIFT

We can't change the past.

But we can gather up It's lessons and move on,

Stronger and wiser.

We can't control the future.

But we can send our dreams Ahead of us

To help prepare the way.

We can live each moment. Heart and soul,

And cherish this day's Greatest gift.

The gift of now.

May peace with the past

 And faith in the future,

Gently guide you

Through each Precious moment

Of Today.
