++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

It's my birthday today and I am feeling so blessed with all the people God has planted in my garden during the past year!  Thanks to each of you for your kindnesses and your friendliness to me across the vastness of cyberspace.  The Holy Father encourages us to use the Internet to share the Good News.  You are doing just that when you pray and encourage each other!

We ARE all in this together!  Words all from YOU in this issue.  A suggestion discovered through experience in this section, questions from a parent in the “Letters” section, and a comment on the power of love in the “Words of Hope” section.   I trust you will find them helpful and uplifting.

A new online group member comes to us, as many of you do, telling of prayers she has seen answered with her children but continues to struggle with other prayer intentions that remain seemingly unanswered.  She says:

I urge you to suggest to others the incredible power of self sacrifice,

especially combined with your rosary novena!   Around the end of 2001,

I started fasting in small ways.  Every time I would fast, I would hear from my

daughter or get an email or she would respond well to my phone calls.  I knew

I had to fast and pray.  When I learned about your rosary novena, I began it

immediately, again, just leaving 2 bites of everything (as much as I could!) –

one for each of my children.  It is such a huge comfort to know there are

others who really care whether their children are practicing Catholics or not.

May God bless all of us and grant us His Mercy and Peace.

Peace,

MaryAnn

PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR September 10, 2004

[Prayer intentions submitted to this group are shared only in the semi-weekly email update sent to members of the online prayer group.  Please keep all of us and our prodigals in your prayers--just as we will pray for you.]

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

[Note:  The following is a letter from Joan, one of our members.  I ask all of you:  Can you help her answer any/all of the questions she puts forth in her letter?  I will pass all replies on to her.  Thanks for helping one of our own! ~ MaryAnn~]

Mary Ann, what an inspiring read again! Thanks for all your Mantle issues.
[I am] still in anguish over my daughter's defection to the Assembly of God. She has had her faith deepened over her son's condition, but she takes it as a non-Catholic Christian would. She was like, 100% Catholic, when she left and joined this new Church. And while she has great Faith in God in her new church, she sneers at the Catholic practices and says things like, "I repent of praying to Mary. I have asked Jesus forgiveness for this." What does Our Lady and Jesus think of this? Can they highly approve?
And tell me, why am I still in anguish that she is not with the Catholic Church when her new faith seems so deep and she has, like, evidence God loves her so much even after moving away from the Catholic Church?
I should balance her story with a story of all the Novenas her Dad and I have been praying, and the miracles that coincided with the prayers. And how we say rosary every night and pray to St Jude for the baby. I guess she feels all this counts for nothing.
We don't let her know all this because she is so anti everything Catholic.
I know that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is leading her beautifully and I have to learn to trust Him.  My grandson she has not yet baptised because they don't believe in infant
baptism. I still need prayers for her return to the full Faith. Where is she to get sanctifying grace?
And the idea sticks in my mind: she has gone out of  truth into semi-error. Oh Lord, bring her back to the fullness of Truth!
Keep on praying for us.   ~Joan~

GOD'S WORD FOR US

As for me, I am poor and needy; but the Lord takes thought for me. Thou art my help and my deliverer; do not tarry, O my God!  ~Psalm 40:17

WORDS OF HOPE

Remember, Love is one of the strongest and best ways to "touch" a person.  Also always remember to smile.  It takes less muscles, makes less wrinkles, and makes people feel good.    ~Jane S.~
