++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

     This is a little late for Christmas Eve and I apologize.  However, I came down with something resembling a cold last Thursday that left me with no voice and feeling really tired.  Today is the first I have sat down at the computer since them.  In spite of a little illness, we had a good Christmas and feel very blessed.  My thanks to those who have asked about Bob’s recovery.  He is doing remarkably well—which he tells people is “because of all the people MaryAnn asked to pray for me.”  He is grateful for your prayers.  I have not had a report on Thomas, another member of this group who had surgery that same day, but perhaps he has not been able to use his computer yet.  Let us continue to pray for him.

           Life doesn’t always go the way we hope, and we found ourselves in sorrow in the midst of our joy when we learned that a young couple very dear to us lost their much-wanted, unborn child a few days before Christmas.  They asked me to request that you pray for them. I’m sure it is especially difficult for them during this season of singing “Unto us a child is born.”  However, they are people of deep faith and told me they prayed many Hail Mary’s throughout their ordeal.

       I pray that baby born 2000 years ago will be a light of hope in the midst of darkness for that young couple and for all of us who long for miracles in our children’s lives.

       It was on a Christmas morning a few years ago, after a long night of pain and anguish, that I realized no matter what the world would ever throw at me, I could recite those words of Job with confidence,  “I know that my Redeemer liveth!”  He will give me, and you, the strength to endure and to do His will.  He WILL bless our children because we have asked.

     May God bless all of us and grant us His Peace.  Merry Christmas.

Peace,

MaryAnn

PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR December 10, 2004

[Prayer intentions submitted to this group are shared only in the semi-weekly email update sent to members of the online prayer group.  Please keep all of us and our prodigals in your prayers--just as we will pray for you.]

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

++It is so wonderful to have all of this group to pray with me!  That is my blessing this Christmas as I wait for my daughter and son to come back to the church.  ~Florida~

++Hello MaryAnn,

      I pray that Bob is coming along well with his knee surgery and is making a quick recovery. Please keep us posted and we will continue to keep him in our prayers.

      The messenger has been sent and I have good news to report. For the last few weeks my daughter and her husband (who is NOT catholic) have been attending mass. I have no reason to believe anything has happened or caused this turn around other than the power and strength of the prayers being sent up to the Blessed Virgin Mary through the Marian Mantle Group.

      I realize that it is that time of year when many Catholics attend mass during advent only. But in years past it has only been Christmas Eve and Easter with her.

      I really am encouraged and also cherishing the moment even if she does not continue.

My prayer request is that she will find the fullness of faith in the sacraments.

May God Bless all our prayer partners.

Wishing all a very Holy Christmas and a New Year full of Joy and Hope for our prodigals.

Thanks MaryAnn for all your hard work and your caring heart.

Merry Christmas.    ~Kansas~

++Good News

One of our members has had her marriage blessed since we started our group and she is now praying with us for others. ~Kansas!

++Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.  You do so much good during the year, I know the spirit of Santa will be good to you.  Hope Bob is doing ok.  I think maybe everything's doing a little better at our house.  I guess when God says he'll take care of matters in his own time, that's what he means.   ~Missouri~

GOD'S WORD FOR US

And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid.

                                        ~Luke 2:10~

WORDS OF HOPE

There are three things, my brethren, by which faith stands firm, devotion remains constant, and virtue endures. They are prayer, fasting and mercy. Prayer knocks at the door, fasting obtains, mercy receives. Prayer, mercy and fasting: these three are one, and they give life to each other. So if you pray, fast; if you fast, show mercy; if you want your petition to be heard, hear the petition of others. If you do not close your ear to others you open God's ear to yourself.          ~Saint Peter Chrysologus~
